Cheating in a Scramble

Posted by admin

I played in a corporate sponsored scramble this week at a fairly nice course in my area. It was one of those events that a company concocts as a “reward” for hard work when they can’t afford to give raises. I don’t really like scrambles. I’d rather play my own ball but it was free and I got a day off work for it. No complaints. I work from home and didn’t know a single other golfer participating in the outing. The other three guys in my group were all strangers as well. We got along OK but a couple of the guys were playing fast and loose with the rules. I’m sure most of you reading this post have played in these types of events at some point. I’d like to hear how you have handled any incidents of cheating by your playing partners. If you’re a cheater, I’d like to hear from you too. As for me, I’m not one who enjoys conflict. I just played within the rules to the best of my ability and turned a blind eye to some of the hanky panky. Luckliy, we finished 1 stroke out of the money so there wasn’t any drama.
